Figure 21 summarizes the percentages of respondents who felt that employee drug use, either on or off the job, had a great effect on a number of issues. Respondents were most likely to feel that the company's image would be greatly affected. Over two-fifths of all respondents also felt that employee drug use had a great effect on employee attendance, workplace safety, and the quality of products or services produced by the company.
When compared to results from 1989, significantly more respondents in 1995 indicated that employee drug use had a great effect on attendance, workplace safety, moral and a company's productivity and quality.
