In March 1989, four major corporations joined together
to create a coalition to serve the common interests of employers
and employees in preventing drug abuse in the American workplace. That coalition—the Institute for
a Drug- Free Workplace—now unites more than nearly
100 major businesses and business organizations, including
many of the largest companies in the United States,
and many other businesses, business organizations,
chambers of commerce, and associations of all sizes in
a common and critically important effort.
